Even if you have been sitting on the bench, I applaud you for having the courage to join the ball game. So what if you are a beginner and so what if you are afraid? Talk with your team and find out what it takes. You don’t know whether to run the ball or pass. Remember you are in the game and forget that you use to not know how to play. Your team won’t let you down. Trust me: this is a timely development. Phil Jackson said, “Like life, basketball is messy and unpredictable. It has its way with you, no matter how hard you try to control it. The trick is to experience each moment with a clear mind and open heart. When you do that, the game–and life–will take care of itself.”
